NEK and Maritsa Iztok Mines have new heads

Krum Atanasov and Teodor Drebov are the new directors of the National Electric Company (NEK) and the Maritsa Iztok Mines, announced by the Ministry of Economy, Energy and Tourism on Monday. The replacements were approved by the Bulgarian Energy Holding (BEH) and the two companies’ boards. Economy Minister Delian Dobrev accepted the resignation of Ivo Lefterov as CEO of NEK and Evgeni Stoykov as CEO of the Maritsa Iztok Mines.

Krum Anastasov graduated Electricity Networks and Power Stations from the Technical University in Sofia and has 21 years of experience in the energy sector, ten of them – on managerial positions. Until his appointment as CEO of NEK, Krum Atanasov headed the company’s Regulated Market department.

Teodor Drebov is a mining engineer, specialized in mining technology. He graduated from the Mining and Geology University in Sofia in 1986. Drebov is a proven expert and a manager with 26 years of experience. His most recent job was at the Natural Resources and Concessions Directorate of the Ministry of Economy, Energy and Tourism.
