Total of 3,330 objects were added to the online register’s list of tourist attractions in Bulgaria, Minister of Tourism Nikolina Angelkova announced.

The Minister of Tourism, presented Tuesday an online register of tourist attractions in Bulgaria.
The register has been compiled for the first time and will provide information about various kinds of tourist attractions on the territory of the country – cultural and natural sites, festivals, religious temples, and others.

Minister Angelkova specified that some 1,800 out of all included objects were state property, while another 930 were of unclarified origin.  “The process of building the register was launched alongside with the establishment the Ministry of Tourism. Its goal was to establish the tourist attractions in Bulgaria, their number, their destinations, the level of access to them and whether of free entry, or not,” Minister Angelkova specified.

In her words, this will enable the Ministry to better planning of their [tourist attractions] further development and presentation of the tourist product in the country in general.

“Information in the register has been submitted entirely from the Bulgarian Municipalities. Only 14 out of 265 municipalities failed to submit the required information. This means that the register is an open process and it yet to be developed and optimised,” Minister Angelkova remarked.
