“Bulgaria will insist on synchronisation of the national legislations of the EU member states in order to impose more serious penalties against human trafficking and for the establishment of a general European Prosecutor’s Office.” That is what Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, Rumyana Bachvarova, said at a briefing at the Council of Ministers in connection of Bulgaria’s position on the migrant crisis in Europe.

Minister Bachcarova stated that Bulgaria meets its biggest challenge to Europe with the responsibility to be a guardian of the external borders.

“We have been following all the standards for receiving refugees and the results we achieved so far are impressing on the background of the general migration situation in Europe.
