Bulgarian government provided more BGN 2,838 million for education, the government information service announced.

The Cabinet approved additional transfers of nearly BGN 2,838 million to the budgets of municipalities with three separate decrees. The funds provided in the budget will be used to fund various educational activities.

BGN 736,896 released under the National program "The school - territory of the students" will ensure conditions for day organization of the educational process of students from an early stage and creating opportunities for sufficient time for learning, as well as maintaining lasting knowledge. Module "Support of full-time training students from an early stage" of the National Programme enables schools to apply with their proposals. Allocated money will fund project proposals of 83 municipal schools.

BGN 2,049,500 will be released for financial support of the activities of extracurricular educational institutions in the public education system in the second half of 2015. This will stimulate the development of extra-curricular activities and the rationalisation of leisure of more than 60,000 children and students visiting outclass activities and facilities for diagnostic, rehabilitative and correctional activities.

This is also a prerequisite for limiting the number of early dropouts from the education system.

Another BGN 51,435 is intended for the payment of scholarships to students with success in sport.
