Bulgarian Parliament voted introduction of a National Health Card

The National Assembly voted second reading amendments to the Medical Establishment Act and adopted the introduction of a National Health Card. The National Health Card will be issued based on district health cards.

The Parliament altered art 3 of the Medical Establishment Act and decided that the Minister of Healthcare to appoint a commission in every district for the issue of the district health card. The commission will comprised of the district governor, two representatives of the Regional Health Inspectorate, two representatives of the Regional Health Insurance Fund, two representatives of the regional association of the Bulgarian Medical Association, one representative of the regional association of the Bulgarian Association of Health Care Professionals and one member of the representative patient organisations.
