“Refugee crisis is a burden to the budget,” Minister of Finance Vladislav Goranov told journalists, after a sitting of the Council of Ministers.

“More resources must be allotted for Border Police and for the system of the Ministry of Interior in general. Fortunately consequences for Bulgaria are not in the same scale,” the Finance Minister added.

Regarding the special unit of the Ministry of Interior and the Prosecutor’s Office, the Minister said that it would rather be an instrument for better coordination of the work of separate units, than engaging additional resource.

“I am not informed by the colleagues what additional resources are needed for better coordination. We have been in constant touch with the Ministry of Interior and we know their needs in terms of Border Police, National Refugee Agency, and we have already provided part of the money requited,” Minister of Finance Vladislav Goranov said further.
