Bulgaria should have resistance forces, which is impossible in such corrupted environment

“What is bad for Bulgaria at the moment is that we are economically weak and seriously corrupted, while we are surrounded by big powerful countries like Turkey and Russia. We should not forget this and we should have the needed resistance forces. However, this is impossible because of the heavy corruption we are seized in,” said Metodi Andreev, MP with the Citizens for European Development of Bulgaria (CEDB), speaking for Nova TV.

Mr Andreev also commented on the unofficial visit of a Turkish business delegation in Northeast Bulgaria.

“Initially it was organised as an unofficial visit of Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu but in the last moment a big business delegation arrived. This happened at the invitation of the mayor of a municipality in Northeast Bulgaria, who is a district leader of the Movement for Rights and Freedoms (MRF) party. This is a political and diplomatic mission covered up as a business delegation,” the politician said further.

“The purpose is to realise a long wanted policy – the opening of a consulate, and to have a spiritual person with a diplomatic status,” he added.

In Mr Andreev’s words, Bulgaria has been a victim of a hybrid war for a long time.
