Development of the scientific sector is part of the reform in Agriculture (ROUNDUP)
“Development of the scientific sector, including of agricultural schools is part of the reform, which will be launched in the Agriculture field,” Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food Vasil Grudev told journalists in the village of Kurtovo Konare, a reporter of Radio Focus – Plovdiv announced.
“These schools are now chronically underfinanced because of lack of resources,” the Deputy Minister added.
“The programme is set to start a project financing related to the development of certain guidelines in order to suspend that underfunding and to enable science to exist alone,” Deputy Minister of Agriculture Grudev remarked.
“This could happen through models for innovation in the agricultural sector and the Operational Programme for Rural Development. The existence of the agricultural business is impossible without science and innovative ideas," Vasil Grudev said.
One of the oldest agricultural schools in the village of Kurtovo Konare, Municipality Stamboliyski will be renovated under Measure 7 of the Rural Development Programme. That is what Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food Vasil Grudev said when visited the Festival of traditional Bulgarian food in the village of Kurtovo Konare.
"The school is in poor condition, it is to collapse, but it seems that still has its old spirit. The school could be renovated with a project which local authorities should prepare. So far they have not made requests for funding, but now local and central government together can use all the opportunities given by the European funding under the programme," Grudev said.
"For this to happen it is expected initiative by local authorities within the next programming period," he added. The idea is the restored school to become a museum of local crafts.
