I believe Bulgarian parliament will adopt constitutional amendments on Sept 23: chair

“I believe that on September 23 the Bulgarian parliament will adopt the draft bill on amendments to the Constitution on first reading and thus allow making further changes until the second-reading adoption,” said Tsetska Tsacheva, Chairperson of the Bulgarian National Assembly, speaking for bTV.

Asked whether the mandate-holder Citizens for European Development of Bulgaria (CEDB) will consider it a failure for the party, if the constitutional amendments are not adopted by the parliament, Ms Tsacheva said: “Yes, it will be a failure for all of us since only the constitutional amendments will allow us achieve the effect we want in the judicial system.”

According to Tsetska Tsacheva, the anti-corruption bill proposed by Deputy Prime Minister Meglena Kuneva would be adopted by the parliament, too. In her words, eventually there will be agreement on the disputable items.
