Bulgaria’s ABV Youths to launch national campaign for tolerance on pedestrian crossings

Youths structure of the Alternative for Bulgarian Revival (ABV) party is to launch a national campaign for tolerance on the part of drivers on pedestrian crossings. The campaign will be conducted under the motto of “Stop, look around, and continue, saving our children” in the cities and towns of Sofia, Stara Zagora, Varna, Burgas, Mezdra, Haskovo, Veliko Tarnovo, Petrich, and Pazardzhik, the ABV press centre announced.

The ABV Youths said people should remember on the eve of the beginning of the school year the grim statistics showing the number of road accident victims is on the rise and children are most vulnerable and pay the price for the increasing aggression and intolerance.

The school year in Bulgaria begins on September 15.

The initiative will not be a one of its kind, the ABV Youths promised.

The young ABV members will remind drivers in an unconventional way on pedestrian crossings close to schools to protect children.

The ABV Youths’ campaign will be started on Monday, September 14, in the city of Stara Zagora. It will be run there between 12:00 p.m. and 12:45 p.m. close to the opera.
