Over 750,000 pupils are expected to start the 2015-2016 school year in Bulgaria on Tuesday, September 15.
Some 64,841 children will be first graders.

By tradition, solemn ceremonies are held in all 2,564 schools in Bulgaria on the first day of the new school year.
The Bulgarian national flag and school flags will be raised while the national anthem is played and school bells will be rung.

Ministers, mayors, and official guests will attend the events dedicated to the opening of the new school year in the many places countrywide.

The newly-built school in the village of German, Sofia Municipality, will be inaugurated. The inauguration will be attended by Yordanka Fandakova, Mayor of the capital city Sofia.

The new school year will be solemnly opened in the National Educational Complex of Culture with a Lyceum for Studying Italian Language and Culture in the Gorna Banya residential district of Sofia by Minister of Culture Vezhdi Rashidov.

There are 24 schools for talented children in Bulgaria under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Culture.

The new school year for the St. Constantine - Cyril the Philosopher National Secondary School of Ancient Languages and Cultures will be opened at Sofia University. The event will be attended by Deputy Minister of Culture Boil Banov.
