“We are investing over BGN 22 million in new nursery schools and modernisation of schools this year,” said Yordanka Fandakova, Mayor of the capital Sofia, speaking before journalists at the inauguration of the Vasil Levski Primary School in the village of German, Sofia Municipality, FOCUS News Agency reported.

The mayor stated the change had started.
“We opened last year the nursery school in German and 84th Vasil Levski Primary School this year. This is a modern educational complex,” the municipal official noted.

Ms Fandakova specified the school met all requirements.
“The investment in the new school totals some BGN 3.4 million. The nursery school is estimated at a little over BGN 2 million. So, over BGN 5 million has been invested in education in German only,” the mayor announced.

“We are investing over BGN 22 million in new nursery schools, modernisation of schools, and mostly energy efficiency this year,” Yordanka Fandakova specified.

Both the nursery school and school in the village of German are “green” buildings.
“The heating works through to a modern system with pumps, which saves lots of energy,” the mayor commented.
