Energy security in Europe passes through Bulgaria: Foreign minister
“Energy security in Europe passes through Bulgaria,” said Minster of Foreign Affairs Daniel Mitov, speaking at a conference themed “Energy security and energy infrastructure in Southeast Europe”.
“Bulgaria has particular responsibilities and it is a honour for us to take EU Commission Presidency. There are many responsibilities which are growing in the geopolitical environment. The EU member states and applicant member states must have single approach when speaking of migration crisis. We put an accent on the projects in the energy infrastructure and the general concept for energy union,” Minister Mitov said.
In his words, EU member states must be adequate factor.
“Turkey was mentioned, as important part for the European Energy Union future. The more visible the process is, the more successful the European and Atlantic integration will be. The Bulgarian Presidency will work actively for development of the process and its operative hand, i.e. the Regional Cooperation Council,” Minster Mitov added.
According to him, we have the historical chance to guarantee accessible and sustainable energy for all European citizens.
