Bulgaria to host international conference on ancient civilizations next autumn
Bulgaria is expected to host in the autumn of 2016 a two-day international conference on ancient civilisations organised by the Ministry of Tourism and the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), the press centre of the ministry announced.
The decision was made at a meeting between Minister of Tourism Nikolina Angelkova and UNWTO Secretary-General Taleb Rifai during the 21th General Assembly of the organisation held on September 12-17 in Medellin, Colombia. An international forum of the kind will be hosted in Bulgaria for the first time.
It will aim at putting emphasis on world cultural heritage as a force attracting tourists globally.
Representatives of renowned museums, leading universities, and scientists will be invited to attend the conference.
