President’s Office to host exhibition dedicated to Bulgaria’s Independence Day
Bulgarian President’s Office is expected to host an exhibition dedicated to Independence Day, celebrated on September 22, the press centre of the institution said.
The de jure independence of Bulgaria from the Ottoman Empire was proclaimed on 5 October [O.S. 22 September] 1908 in the old capital of Tarnovo by Prince Ferdinand of Bulgaria, who afterwards took the title of Tsar.
Those wishing to see the documents, photographs, and exhibits related to the proclamation of independence, including the declaration (manifesto) of independence, will be able to do so from 10:00 to 4:30 p.m.
The first group of visitors will be welcomed by President Rosen Plevneliev.
The manifesto of Ferdinand I of Bulgaria through which he proclaimed the independence of the Principality of Bulgaria was a work of Professor Haralampi Tachev.
