Bulgaria marks Independence Day
Bulgaria marks the 107th anniversary since the Declaration of Independence on Tuesday.
Bulgaria’s independence was officially declared on September 22, 1908 in the town of Veliko Tarnovo with a special manifesto, while Ferdinand of Bulgaria adopted the title of Tsar of Bulgaria.
The official holiday was marked throughout the entire country but by tradition, the town of Veliko Tarnovo was the centre of the celebrations on this day.
Bulgarian capital city Sofia will mark the 107th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence with a series of events, which will start at of the Alexander of Battenberg Square.
Veliko Tarnovo, of course, will be the centre of the celebrations of Bulgaria’s Independence Da. The municipality will organise a series of solemn and festive events.
