Bulgaria foreign ministry advises Bulgarians to avoid Serbia-Croatia border (ROUNDUP)
According to information of the Bulgarian Embassy to Belgrade, the admission of passenger and freight vehicles through the Batrovci-Bajakovo border checkpoint has been suspended since Thursday morning, the press office of the Bulgarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced on Thursday.
There is a ban on the import and transit transportation of any goods from Croatia, no matter what the owner, distributor or road carrier is.
There is a ban on the entrance of freight vehicles with Croatian registration.
The restrictions are valid for all Serbian border checkpoints, including those at the border to Bulgaria.
As of Thursday Croatia introduced a ban on the entrance on its territory of cars with Serbian registration and citizens with Serbian passports.
There is great risk of delays in the admission of freight vehicles at the border checkpoints at the border between Serbia and Bulgaria due to the stepped-up customs control on behalf of the Serbian authorities on the origin of the transported goods.
European Union officials made statements on the need of urgent resumption of the traffic along Corridor 10.
All border checkpoints at the border between Serbia and Hungary are functioning normally.
The Bulgarian Embassy advises Bulgarian citizens to use alternative routes, avoiding the Serbian-Croatian border.
The Bulgarian citizens may obtain more information about the current state and situation on the roads and at the border checkpoints on the official website of the Automobile Union of Serbia.
