“Our wish is that more and more investments in infrastructure are done through public-private partnership and not to be focused only on the EU funds,” Bulgarian Minister of Regional Development and Public Works Lilyana Pavlova said speaking at the 5th discussion forum themed “Construction in 2016 – prospects and challenges. Opportunities in the 2014-2020 programme period”.

“More than 80% of the money in the construction sector comes under the EU programmes and state public procurements. We should aim at cutting this rate because only this way we will have a proof for a good economic activity,” the minister remarked.

In Ms Pavlova’s words, over the past year there has been serious stirring-up at the market connected with the construction of residential and business buildings, which was an encouraging tendency.

The minister also stressed on the importance of the energy efficiency.
