It has been one year this Thursday since the tragedy that claimed the lives of 15 people occurred at the Videx plant [former Midzhur] in the village of Gorni Lom, district of Vidin, Northwest Bulgaria.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. at the plant. The plant produced explosive substances and dismantled ammunitions. The signal about the incident was filed at 5:05 p.m. to the 112 emergency hotline. The lives of 13 men and 2 women were tragically claimed. October 3, 2014 was declared a day of national mourning.

Biological material from the victims was found when the blast site was inspected. The explosion took place vertically and things at the plant melted due to the very high temperature.

Armed forces members spent months inspecting the explosion site and dismantling mines and ammunitions afterwards.
