Tunisia interested in Bulgarian lecturers, medical experts: Deputy PM

This is what Bulgarian Deputy Prime Minister for Demographic and Social Policies and Minister of Labour and Social Policy Ivaylo Kalfin said at the meeting with Tunisian Prime Minister Habib Essid in Tunis, the press office of the Bulgarian Ministry of Labour and Social Policy announced.

In the frames of the official talks the two discussed the opportunities for development of the bilateral cooperation, as well as concrete issues connected with exchange of experience and good practices agreed earlier between Bulgarian Deputy PM Kalfin and the Tunisian ministers of social policy and professional training and employment.

“The meetings showed that apart from the traditionally friendly relations we have, in the current context we can work on many new and interesting issues and fields. They are connected with the education, professional training, opportunities for development of cooperation in the field of social dialogue, opportunities for attraction of more Tunisian university students or re-qualification in our professional training system,” Mr Kalfin remarked.

The Bulgarian Deputy Prime Minister also expressed readiness for broad cooperation within EU-Tunisia ties.

“It is highly important that Tunisia wishes and is hungry for Bulgarian experts. At the meetings I had with the Prime Minister, the President of Tunisia’s Assembly of the Representatives of the People, the ministers of social policies and employment, we outlined a wish for recovery of the traditional presence of Bulgarian experts in education and medicine. The Tunisian officials expressed a wish to develop long-term projects, including within the EU initiatives,” Mr Kalfin said after meeting with the Tunisian Prime Minister.
