Customs officers in the Bulgarian coastal city of Burgas busted 42.412 kilos of heroin, Customs-Burgas announced.
The drug haul was found in a Volvo tractor with German registration, which arrived in Burgas without a shipment by a ferryboat from the port of Batumi, Georgia.

The vehicle was selected for inspection under the risk analysis method. With the help of sniffer dog Chara, authorities ascertained the presence of drugs. A following x-ray examination reported the presence of suspicious objects in the back tires of the tractor.

The Bulgarian customs authorities dismantled all the tires and found out that all the ten wheel rims were full of 42.412 kilos of heroin.

The busted heroin haul is estimated at more than BGN 4.3 million. The driver of the vehicle, a Turkish citizen, was pit under arrested.Work on the case continues.
