Bulgarian Minister of Defence Nikolay Nenchev met with Director of the Military Information Service Yordan Bakalov on Monday, the press office of the ministry announced.

At the meeting Mr Bakalov handed in his resignation. The motive for the move was his incompatibility with the post, deriving from the Military Intelligence Act passed recently by the Bulgarian National Assembly.

Minister Nenchev, however, decided not to accept the resignation until the President ruled on the new act and until it was published in the State Gazette.

Mr Nenchev yet against assured Mr Bakalov that he highly evaluated his skills and qualities and that he continued placing trust in the latter.
