Commentaries in Russian media: Bulgaria should feel ashamed

“Sergei Lavrov put Bulgarian prime minister to shame,” Russian Vzglyad newspaper wrote in connection with an interview with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov for NTV.
“Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borisov must be ashamed in front of voters of the fact that abandoned Russian energy projects in favour of the USA”. That is what Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said.
"I’ve just read with amazement a quotation from Prime Minister of Bulgaria Boyko Borisov who said that Bulgaria refused to implement energy projects with Russia, including the South Stream energy project to the interests of the United States.,” Lavrov said in an interview with NTV channel.
"So now the United States should help Bulgaria receive visa-free regime, and so on and so forth. It’s amazing how people here do not hesitate to make such statements. I would have felt ashamed before the voters, before the nation,” the Russian Foreign Minister said.
The newspaper recalls that on December 1, 2014, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced that the country could not continue the realisation of the South Stream gas pipeline project under the same conditions. Then Moscow and Ankara agreed on the construction of a gas pipeline across the sea and the creation of a gas hub in Greece, through which to supply gas to southern Europe.

“Lavrov gave European example of what he could feel ashamed of,” Rossiyskiy Dialog wrote.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov commented that Russia should conduct a foreign policy that would not make it feel ashamed before the nation. Speaking of a bad example in this respect, the minister pointed at Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borisov and his statement about ruining the energy cooperation with Russia to the benefit of the USA.

“Sergei Lavrov feels ashamed because of Bulgarian Prime Minister,” writes Svobodnaya Pressa.
Mr Lavrov said that Russia’s foreign policy, just like of any other country, should be led by pragmatism and dignity. In this sense, the Russian foreign minister said he would have felt ashamed of making statements like those of Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borisov, the newspaper comments.
This way the Russian minister responded to Borisov’s statement that Bulgaria gave up on the Russian-Bulgarian projects, including the South Stream gas pipeline, a NPP and the Burgas–Alexandroupoli oil pipeline, and now expected the US to grant Bulgaria with a visa-free regime.

“Lavrov told what he could feel ashamed about before the Russian nation,” LifeNews wrote.
“It is astonishing how people do not feel ashamed of making such statements. I would have felt ashamed before the voters and my nation. I was amazed that Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borisov said that Sofia gave up on the realisation of energy projects with Russia to the benefit of the USA and now Washington was expected to help for the visa-free regime for Bulgaria. This is amazing,” the Russian minister remarked.
