Bulgaria joins global initiative against human trafficking

Bulgaria joined a global initiative against human trafficking. Many Bulgarian citizens took part at the Freedom March in Sofia. The event is held in 200 countries worldwide. The street procession started from Vitosha Avenue downtown Sofia. The purpose of the procession is to popularize the problem of human trafficking on a global level. Bulgaria places second in Europe in terms of the number of people who become victims of human trafficking. The first National Twenty-Four-Hour Phone Line against human trafficking was opened today, October 17. The number 0800 20 100 is free of charge. Victims of human trafficking and relatives of victims can signal the competent authorities on this phone line.
