Minister Angelkova: The main objective of Tourism Ministry is to turn Bulgaria into leading tourist destination in Europe

The main objective of Bulgaria’s Ministry of Tourism is to turn Bulgaria into one of Europe’s leading tourist destinations, Bulgaria’s Minister of Tourism Nikolina Angelkova said. One of the purposes of the ministry regards the implementation of a road map aimed at developing sustainable tourism and improving the country’s image within a period of 10 years. In Minister Angelkova’s words, the first visible results in tourism are usually seen in one to two years. Minister Angelkova also said that the main purpose of the authorities is to attract investments in this sector and launch an investment map in tourism together with the Bulgarian municipalities. In Minister Angelkova’s words, Bulgaria is to establish a Council on Personnel in Tourism, because people are the ones who create the added value in tourism. Minister Angelkova said that 90% of the tourist product is formed by the quality of the tourist service and people are the ones who create the image of that sector.
