Bulgaria modernizes gas depot at Chiren

An official ceremony gave the start to a project for the modernization of the Chiren gas storage facility. The making of two new operational drills in the repository will increase the opportunity for daily gain – from about 4 million cubic meters to little over 5 million cubic meters. It is expected in the future the 3D seismic study, sponsored by the EU, to prove that a two-fold increase of the facility’s capacity is possible. The double increase of the Chiren gas storage facility’s capacity can increase daily gain up to 10 million cubic meters, which is quite enough to cover the needs of Bulgaria’s economy so far.
