Bulgaria reaches EU targets for reducing emissions

The European Union is on track to exceed its proposed commitment to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 20 percent until 2020, according to a report by the European Environment Agency. Bulgaria is among the top 13 EU Member States that made the biggest progress in implementation of all three national targets on climate and energy. These are emission reduction, use of renewable energy sources and energy efficiency, the report reads. When the share of renewable energy sources is taken into consideration, Bulgaria even exceeds its commitments.
