Bulgaria’s MiG-29 to be repaired in Poland

The governments of Poland and Bulgaria signed an agreement for the repair of the Russian-made MiG-29 planes Bulgaria owns. The document was signed in Poland’s capital on the part of the defense ministers of the two countries Tomaš Šemonjak and Nikolai Nenchev. Poland is the only country except Russia, which can service and repair the Russian planes. The agreement envisages the repair of six plane engines and the temporary use of two Polish engines for a period of 2 years. The repair cost of each engine is EUR 1 023, while transport expenses are undertaken by the Polish side.
