Bulgaria’s CEDB to report historic victory after local elections run-off: deputy chair

“The Bulgarian Prime Minister is in Brussels to attend a very hard EU Council, which was focused on a major topic – the refugee wave. At the moment the country is facing much more important responsibilities that need to be solved, such as to preserve the stability in the region because we can be pushed into a chaos and political destabilisation,” said Tsvetan Tsvetanov, deputy chairperson of the Citizens for European Development of Bulgaria (CEDB), speaking for Nova TV.

“The Prime Minister said that we need to show respect to the opposition. I have always noted that we keep dialogue with the Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP), the Movement for Rights and Freedoms (MRF), and the Bulgarian Democratic Centre (BDC). These are the parties that have representation at the parliament,” Tsvetanov commented further.

Commenting on the local elections held in Bulgaria on Sunday, Tsvetan Tsvetanov remarked that the CEDB would report a historic victory after the run-off next Sunday, a victory that had not been seen during the 25-year transition period.
