"Following these local elections the Movement for Rights and Freedoms (MRF) does not declare a desire to take part in central government," the leader of the MRF Lyutvi Mestan said at a press conference in the National Palace of Culture.

“The MRF will not stop with its thesis that this government formula is vicious and does not correspond to Bulgaria’s status as a fully-fledged member of the EU and NATO, there is a heavy distortion. The local elections suggest the ‘rectification’ assessment. My assessment should not be considered as a declaration on behalf of the MRF to enter the government configuration within the 43rd National Assembly. I hope I have alleviated the concern of political forces seeing risk. The necessity exists for a new formula in government, which is European in its essence,” Mestan said explicitly.
