Government approves 2016 budget parameters

The Council of Ministers has approved the parameters of the 2016 budget. The government has also set a new figure for the poverty line, notably, 153.39 euro or by 7.16 euro up on the 2015 poverty line. In 2016 more financing from the national revenue will be allocated to ministries and their structures, for example in revenue agencies and for wages of social workers. As to sectors, more money has been earmarked for education and healthcare, for defense and security. Although 2015 will round off with a higher deficit than expected, the Ministry of Finance has predicted that next year’s one it will be cut to 2% of GDP. The gap in the revenue will be financed with fresh debt but not exceeding 2.7 billion euro. The Bulgarian economy is set to grow by 2.1%.
