Local run-off elections underway in 133 municipalities

Today mayors are elected in 133 municipalities, in 970 settlements with more than 100 residents and in 25 districts of the large cities Sofia, Plovdiv and Varna. Voting opened at 6 am and will continue until 7 pm, or 8 pm at the latest. Run-offs started normally across the country, the Spokesman of the Central Election Commission (CEC) Alexander Andreev told the press. Anticipated problems at the beginning of voting have not occurred though earlier CEC complained that some of the political groups had withdrawn their representatives from polling stations’ elections.
