Hackers generate over 2 bln. requests on CEC website

Bulgaria requested the assistance of the US cybersecurity center on November 1, the day of the local election’s second round due to the strong hackers’ attacks. There were over 2 bln. requests for one of the largest institutional websites /the one of the Central Election Commission/ within 24 hours, Deputy Minister of Transport and Communications Valeri Borisov reported, with no investigational results yet. It was clear only that institutions were targeted from computers in Asia, Europe and Africa. The attack was much bigger on the day of the second round, Borisov stated.
