Bulgaria's Ministry of Foreign Affairs is launching an online consular services system, an official has said.

 

The aim is to help both expats, business representatives, and people whose work or travel is related to Bulgaria by speeding up procedures.

 

Until now Bulgarians living abroad had to travel to the nearest consular service - sometimes hundreds of kilometers from their place of residence. 

 

The system will also be of use in countries where Bulgaria has no diplomatic mission, BGNES wire service quotes Rakovski Lashev, head of the ministry's Consular Relations department, as saying.
