According to preliminary data, Bulgaria’s Industrial Production Index, seasonally adjusted, has decreased by 1.1% in September 2015, as compared to August 2015, Bulgaria’s National Statistical Institute announced.
In September 2015 working day adjusted Industrial Production Index rose by 0.6% in comparison with the same month of 2014.
In September 2015 as compared to August 2015, the seasonally adjusted Industrial Production Index decreased in the electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply by 3.1% and in the manufacturing by 1.0%, while in the mining and quarrying industry an increase by 3.7% was seen.
The most significant decreases of production in the manufacturing were registered in the manufacture of chemicals and chemical products by 11.8%, in the manufacture of tobacco products by 11.3%, in the repair and installation of machinery and equipment by 10.1%, in the manufacture of basic metals by 7.6%. There were increases in the manufacture of furniture by 11.0%, in the manufacture of paper and paper products by 10.0%, in the manufacture of motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers by 6.3%, in the manufacture of other transport equipment by 3.7%.
On annual basis in September 2015 Industrial Production Index calculated from working day adjusted data increased in the mining and quarrying industry by 9.1% and in the manufacturing by 0.2%, while in the electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply a decrease by 2.2% was seen.
In the manufacturing, the more significant increases compared to the same month of the previous year were seen in the manufacture of other transport equipment by 50.8%, in the manufacture of other non-metallic mineral products by 14.5%, in the manufacture of paper and paper products by 10.7%, in the manufacture of motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers by 10.6%. Decreases were registered in the manufacture of tobacco products by 28.7%, in the manufacture of basic metals by 18.3%, in the repair and installation of machinery and equipment by 17.7%, in the manufacture of machinery and equipment by 6.4%.
