Bulgaria might be guarantor of Europe’s energy security

“The strategic geographic location of this country, the procedures started for the oil & gas search and survey deep in the Black Sea, as well as the accelerated work on the construction of the interconnectors with the neighboring countries – these are all excellent prerequisites for the establishment of a regional gas distribution hub in Bulgaria. The execution of this concept will be yet another guarantee for Europe’s energy security”. That was said by Minister of Energy Temenuzhka Petkova during the international conference on energy infrastructure in Copenhagen, Denmark. The minister informed the participants that the shareholders of the ICGB joint investment company have reached agreement on the texts for the construction of the Greece – Bulgaria interconnector. In his speech at the forum Director at the European Commission's Directorate B on the Internal Energy MarketKlaus-Dieter Borchardt hailed the Bulgarian government for its work on the gas projects’ implementation.
