IMF forecasts moderate growth for Bulgaria in 2015

The International Monetary Fund forecasts the 2015 growth in Bulgaria to be moderate and close to the level of 1.7% registered last year. The figure is based on export data and the utilization of EU funds. The risks in view of this perspective are rather positive as the increase of internal demand is possible to bring about a gradual growth in 2016. But even though increased economic activity has reduced unemployment, the forecast is that it would still remain rather high. These are points in the statement of the IMF mission, which visited Sofia November 4 through the 9, 2015. The aim of the mission was to discuss with Bulgarian authorities the economic perspectives of the country and related policies. The leader of the IMF mission for Bulgaria, Mrs. Michele Shannon further pointed out that the deflation trend in this country would break with the stabilization of raw material prices.
