Bulgarian Theatre Night Kicks Off on November 21
For a third year in a row Bulgaria will host an event celebrated in 11 European countries which aims to remove barriers between the audience and theatre and performing art.
On November 15, 2015 for one night only, 15 Bulgarian regional centres will open their doors for theatre lovers and enthusiasts, who will have the chance to attend some of the events free of charge. The programme is different across the regional centres and includes plays, documentaries, opera, exhibitions, as well as meetings with actors and behind-the-scenes tours.
The initiative Theatre Night was born in Croatia in 2009. A year later, Theatre Night spread outside the Croatian borders, and takes on a new name – European Theatre Night, because of the involvement of other three European countries, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Slovakia and Montenegro.
In Sofia, the Bulgarian Theatre Night kicks off with a PechaKucha Night (chit-chat) at 6 p.m. in one of the halls of New Bulgarian University (NBU).
Later during the night in “Ivan Vazov” National Theatre citizens will have the opportunity to browse through the pictures of “Night Characters” of the photographer Pavel Chervenkov.
Both events are with free entrance.
More information about the event, participating towns and tickets for the additional events can be found here.
The Theatre Night in Bulgaria is organised by Art Projects Foundation in cooperation with InformBureau Association and the Bulgarian Artist Union.
