Foreign investments grow 26% year on year

In September direct foreign investments in this country reach EUR 1.1 billion, which is a growth of 26% on the same month of 2014, show figures provided by the Central Bank of Bulgaria. This growth should be viewed considering the fact that 2014 is a low basis for comparison, as throughout that year there were months of lagging behind of this index, making a difference of up to 20%. Taking figures on separate countries, the biggest part of foreign investments once again comes from the Netherlands and for the first nine months of the year they reach EUR 1.59 billion. Furthermore a Dutch investor is the mother company of Burgas oil refinery Lukoil Neftohim, which be end May completed the building of the new installation for hydro-cracking to the cost of USD 1.5 billion, the sum being invested in the course of several years. Austria is the second biggest investor in Bulgaria – in the first nine months of the current year it has invested in Bulgaria EUR 230.6 million. Third stands France with investments in Bulgaria for the period in consideration to the tune of EUR 105.8 million.
