Bulgarian Foreign Ministry urges Bulgarians in Belgium to be more vigilant

Travelers to Brussels and Belgium should act according to recommendations of authorities there in the wake of Saturday’s putting Brussels on a maximum security alert on terrorist attack. This is the advice of the Foreign Ministry in Sofia released today. The Ministry urges Bulgarian nationals who plan trips to Brussels, travelers and those who stay there to keep informed of developments and changes and reckon with the situation there, the press release of the Foreign Ministry reads. It repeats the orders of Belgian authorities and advises Bulgarian nationals to avoid visits to crowded places like shopping malls and bazaars, street cultural and sports events, railway stations, bus stations etc. If visits to such places are absolutely necessary Bulgarians are advised to be particularly vigilant. The Foreign Ministry also notifies citizens that the Brussels Underground is shut for the weekend, today and tomorrow. Putting Brussels on the fourth level of alert on risk of terrorist attack was preceded by a meeting of key Belgian cabinet ministers, the police and the security forces. Belgium is a key location of investigation into 13 Nov Paris terrorist attacks. At least three suspects have been recently arrested in Belgium and will be facing charges of terrorism.
