Bulgaria Prime Minister Boyko Borissov will take part in the 4th leaders’ meeting of China and the Central and Eastern European countries, which is centering on the promotion of economic relations. China is planning to double its trade with the countries of the region by 2020 and to put through major infrastructure projects there.

A designated USD 10 billion credit line will be used for joint projects in infrastructure, high-tech, green economy and to encourage Chinese businesses to take part in the construction of industrial and technological zones in each of the 16 countries of the region. Bulgaria regards the initiative as an additional element in the partnership between the EU and China.

In China, Boyko Borissov will have talks with his Chinese counterpart Li Keqiang. The Bulgarian delegation includes representatives of businesses from the sphere of agriculture, the wine industry, tourism, rose oil cosmetics and electronics.

China is Bulgaria’s biggest trading partner in Asia. Data show a drop in exports as well as imports over the first six months of this year. Trade between the two countries is on the agenda of the current Bulgarian visit to China.
