Global challenges like terrorism, migration require global response

In the context of a crisis, the European countries have to overcome differences and safeguard Europe as a single democratic space based on the rule of law and on regard of human rights. This has been the stance of Bulgarian President Rosen Plevneliev and of the Speaker of the Council of Europe Parliamentary Assembly Anne Brasseur who met for talks in Sofia. The two leaders have agreed that global challenges like terrorism and migration require a global response and can only be defeated with the joint efforts of the international community. Rosen Plevneliev and Anne Brasseur have called for joint action against the roots of terrorism, not just against its consequences. The Bulgarian head of state has assured his guest that Bulgaria will continue performing its duties with regard to refugees and asylum seekers and has made a point that a solution of the problem within the European Union is only feasible with joint action and shared responsibility of all member states.
