Bulgaria’s foreign policy is extremely unbalanced and intended to confrontation: BSP leader

Bulgaria’s foreign policy is extremely unbalanced and oriented towards creation of confrontation and separation. That is what leader of the Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP) Mihail Mikov said after a sitting of the National Council of party.

“Especially the policy on Russia. All Bulgarian citizens have witnessed, including unnecessary actions that must placard Euro-Atlantic solidarity. This is a deep complex,” Mikov said.

In his words, there are ministers who think that the more loudly they state anti-Russian positions, the greater Europeans they are.

“They do not take into account the interests of Bulgaria,” Mikov commented further.

“Relations between Bulgaria and Russia are red hot. There are a number of problems in the EU which hinder the development of partnership and good economic relations. Bulgaria's interests always insist on good economic relations with both Russia and Turkey. BSP has always consistently taken the position that Bulgaria has no right to lose its place as a transit country to transport hydrocarbons from the east to west,” Mikov said.
