Criminal group detained for document forgery

Bulgaria’s Chief Directorate “Combating Organized Crime” detained an organized criminal group for document forgery for the needs of the illegal traffic of refugees through Bulgaria. The press office of the Bulgarian Ministry of Interior informs that five people aged between 22 and 57 were arrested in Sofia and Veliko Tarnovo during a special police operation under the supervision of the Specialized Prosecutor’s Office. The evidence shows that the criminal group was engaged in the manufacture and trade of falsified identity cards, passports, driving licenses and other documentation. The police officers found drugs and falsified documents with Arab names during the special operation.
