“Bulgaria is not a side in the conflict between Turkey and Russia, but in the current situation stands a chance of obtaining Russian gas for the projected gas hub near Varna,” said PM Boyko Borissov in an interview for Bulgarian National TV.

 

“If, under European Commission aegis, we manage to bring Russian gas to Varna and from there the EU or European consortiums could buy it, then we would have additional financing for our gas pipelines without ceding ownership of them and we would collect transit fees, in accordance with the third liberalization package,” Boyko Borissov added.
