Anti-corruption education to be introduced in Bulgarian universities

Bulgarian Deputy Prime Minister for European Policies Coordination and Institutional Affairs Meglena Kuneva signed in Vienna a Memorandum of Understanding and Cooperation in the field of anti-corruption education between the National Council on Anti-corruption Policies and the UN Office on Drugs and Crime. The agreement is valid for a period of three years and its purpose is to serve as a framework for cooperation for introducing anti-corruption education in Bulgarian universities. Although the main focus of anti-corruption policies is legislation and institutions, education is no less important and a feeling of intolerance towards corruption can be created among the younger generation, Deputy Prime Minister Meglena Kuneva said. Yuri Fedotov, Executive Director of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime, expressed satisfaction that Bulgaria was the second country to become part of such an initiative.
