Bulgaria and OSCE to cooperate in fight against human trafficking

During the current Bulgarian Presidency of the Council of Europe and during the Presidency of the Council of the European Union in 2018, Bulgaria and the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) will cooperate in the fight against human trafficking. This is an agreement reached during a meeting in Vienna between Bulgarian Deputy Prime Minister for European Policies Coordination and Institutional Affairs Meglena Kuneva and the OSCE Special Representative and Co-ordinator for Combating Trafficking in Human Beings ambassador Madina Jarbussynova. The two discussed the need for effective actions aimed at combating trafficking at the backdrop of increased migration. It is necessary to distinguish between trafficking and smuggling, but in the context of increased migration intersections exist between these two crimes, Deputy Prime Minister Kuneva said.
