Over 5000, mostly young people, visit National Assembly on Open Doors Day

 Over 5000, mostly young people, have visited the National Assembly on the Open Doors Day. The day was held on February 20th, 2016, to mark the 143rd year since the hanging of Vassil Levski and the 140th anniversary of the April Uprising and the tragic death of Hristo Botev.
 
The first visitors were met by the chairperson of the National Assembly, Tsetska Tsacheva. Among the young visitors special guests were students, members of the clubs of young revivalists from Sofia.
 
The exhibition under the title: “Immortality of the Bulgarian spirit”, dedicated to the anniversary of the April Uprising and the death of the poet and revolutionary Hristo Botev, as well as to the life and deeds of Vassil Levski  raised the greatest interest. The exhibition shows hair, the dagger and letters of Vassil Levski, as well as the watch, original photos and the farewell letter to his family of Hristo Botev, seals and statutes of the Bulgarian Revolutionary Central Committee (BRCK), the flag of the insurgents.
 
The guests visiting the parliament had the opportunity to walk around the plenary hall and to visit the permanent exhibit of the legislature, showing its history.
 
A documentary titled: “Pictures of the first Bulgarian parliament” has been performed to the visitors in the plenary hall.
