Bulgarian PM met with the Bulgarian community in Israel

“We as Bulgarians do have reason to be brothers with the Israeli people and to be proud of what Bulgarian people did some 70 years ago. That is what Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borisov said, during a meeting with the Bulgarian community in Israel, a special messenger of FOCUS News Agency to Israel announced.
“Friendship between Bulgaria and Israel and in general with the Jewish community dates back to the rescue of Bulgarian Jews and we will be close people for life and it is to the credit of Israel that never forgets this fact. I’m truly grateful to these people who are participants and remember the history, remember what the church did and we as Bulgarians really have grounds to be brother peoples and to be proud of this,” Prime Minister Boyko Borisov said.
In his words, new generations hardly remember what Bulgarians did, and the truth is that the whole nation has rallied and defended Jews.
“The leadership of the country, and the king, but also the people did a great job then,” Boyko Borisov added.
“Bulgaria pays huge effort to tackle everyday crime,” . Boyko Borisov said during the meeting.
“Small towns invest money in video surveillance. There is ongoing reform in the Ministry of Interior to allocate/re-allocate personnel resources. Currently there are thousands of officers on paper, but 6,000 – 7,000 are not on the street but in the administration. So we want to divide administration from patrols, those on the street and to step up police presence in the country. This is the solution,” Prime Minister Borisov said.
According to him, the majority of crimes were revealed. The government was doing great efforts and crime prevention was more important, he said.
“Bulgaria offers great opportunity for Israeli investment and Israeli business may invest in our country,” Prime Minister Boyko Borisov said further.
“Since Bulgaria is developing with good pace, there are great opportunities for investments in all fields – agriculture, and you know it is not just grain production, but also vegetable-growing, canning industry, military industry, telecommunications, electronics etc.
The big tech-parks that we built provide for great opportunities,” the Prime Minister said.
“Relations between Israel and Bulgaria are more than friendly”, the Bulgarian Prime Minister said.
“Benjamin Netanyahu and I are good friends. We have many common policies, we help each other. In Palestine, in Ramallah we met with their Prime Minister Rami Hamdan and the President and the Foreign Minister. We signed agreements. Bulgaria is unique in this respect, because it has been working well with the Palestinian community for years and at the same time has such fraternal relations with Israel,” Boyko Borisov said.
In his words, Israel is probably the only country where the attitude towards Bulgaria is the same from all – regardless leftist or rightist parties.
Bulgarian PM Borisov congratulated the community on behalf of the entire delegation - Deputy Prime Minister Tomislav Donchev, Minister of Foreign Affairs Daniel Mitov, former Foreign Minister Nikolay Mladenov.
