Yordan Sokolov was great jurist, intelligent man defending his principles: Bulgarian ex-parliament official

Yordan Sokolov, chairperson of Bulgaria’s 38th National Assembly, passed away this week.
Last respects started to be paid to Sokolov at 11:00 am on Sunday, February 28, at the Saint Sofia Hall of the National Assembly, FOCUS News Agency reported.
Professor Ognyan Gerdzhikov, chairperson of Bulgaria’s 39th National Assembly, delivered a statement at the farewell ceremony.
“Yordan Sokolov was a great jurist and an intelligent man defending his principles from beginning to end,” Gerdzhikov remarked.
“I was his successor – I took his post after [the end of work of] the 38th National Assembly,” he pointed out.
“I think this [his death] is indeed a serious loss in the times we live in,” Ognyan Gerdzhikov added.
